Information Architecture isn’t cut-and-dried
August 27th, 2008Information Architecture, like any field in the web industry, can often have different approaches to the same problem - as Donna Spencer and Trent Mankelow’s friendly debate on information categorisation methods and techniques, published in the print edition of New Zealand’s Computerworld magazine last week, goes to show.
The piece highlights that a variety of tools and techniques can be applied to a given problem. Knowing what to use and when really comes from the knowledge and research of an experienced Information Architect.
Donna will be speaking at the Edge of the Web conference and running the introductory workshop Information Architecture: Just the Essentials in November.
